Mechanical Engineer
Engineer / Educator / Author

Esteban provided engineering expertise key to developing the green mechanical system that will be implemented at the Design Build Green Hub. He identified a strategy in response to McKneely Consulting’s advice on green infrastructure, and AGI’s design goals. He was key in guiding AGI in designing an energy savings HVAC system ideal for retrofitting older homes and buildings. Once in place the retrofit will model the design’s affordability and feasibility.

Esteban, who is the proud father to four boys who are now young men, grew up in northwest Detroit, graduating from Renaissance High School. The son of Mexican immigrants from Chihuahua, Northern Mexico, he traveled there each year, becoming fluent in Spanish, and the country’s cultures and traditions.

Esteban has worked in the construction/consulting industry since 1990. He has completed three LEED designated projects in Michigan, including the Detroit Lions Headquarters and Training Facility in Allen Park, MI. Esteban has worked on HVAC design, plumbing, fire protection, process piping, and controls for a variety of facility types including a number of large hospitals.
After 10 years as an employee, Esteban branched out, pursuing his own path and establishing JRED Engineering, Inc., an Hispanic owned engineering consulting firm.
